What Keeps The SEC Busy - 1995:  Early every January, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants presents a national conference on current SEC developments. This event is generally recognized in the accounting world as a premier educational happening, for it provides financial statement preparers with an opportunity to learn about the reporting issues that most concern the SEC at the very start of the annual reporting season. In 1995, over 1,000 members of the accounting profession - employed by both preparers and their auditing firms - gathered in Washington to hear members of the SEC's Office of the Chief Accountant, Division of Corporate Finance, and the Division of Enforcement discuss financial reporting from their own point of view.
